At 2:40:36 PM (26/05/2010) our servers were disconnected for a security analysis. We’ve increased security measures over the past few weeks, and are planning to tighten server security in the weeks to come.

Here’s a little preview of the new security measures taking place on the BLD Hosting VPS NODE (see http://www.bldhosting.net/order/serverstatus.php for a list of servers):

  • Tightened /tmp permissions
  • Reconfigured /var/tmp ownership and related security issues
  • Reconfigured /tmp ownership and related security issues (mounted as a filesystem, noexec, nosuid)
  • Updated Kernel
  • Fixed OpenVz Custom  Kernel errors and security bugs
  • Fixed OpenVZ boot options
  • Tightened PHP on shared hosting environment
